TOPIC: What type of notary seal is required?

What type of notary seal is required? 6 years 8 months ago #954

The law allows the use of either a rubber stamp or a metal embosser. Either seal must include your commission name (the same as your official signature), commission number and the phrases “notary public,” “notary seal,” and “State of Missouri” in 8 point type. If your notary stamp does not have the county for which you are commissioned and your expiration date, you must hand write this information below your signature on all documents you notarize. Rubber notary stamps usually contain all the necessary information and must use black ink.

When using a metal embosser seal, many notaries prefer to also use a rubber notary stamp with the additional information. We also advise you to use an impression inker or carbon paper to ensure the seal impression is legible when photocopied. Notary Public Underwriters Agency offers either seal in several styles, all of which comply with Missouri law. If you frequently notarize out-of-state or international documents, you may wish to use the rubber notary stamp for its clarity and the embosser which is readily accepted as the notary standard around the world.
