May I charge a fee for my notary services? 5 years 3 months ago #943

Yes. Missouri allows you to charge a maximum fee of two dollars per notarization. This includes the notarization on the document and the recording of the notarization in your record book. You may also charge a travel fee, not to exceed the approved federal mileage rate and an expedited convenience service fee not to exceed twenty-five dollars when traveling to perform a notarial act, provided:

--The notary explains to the person requesting the notarial act the travel fee is separate from the notarial fee and is not specified or mandated by law.
--The notary and the person requesting the notarial act agree upon his/her fees in advance of the notary affixing his/her official seal.
